Biografía/Biography
Ülfet Sevdi es escritor, director de teatro, dramaturgo, artista visual y Teatro del Practicante oprimido radicado en Montreal. Tiene un Máster en Investigación y Creación, en el programa INDI de la Universidad Concordia. Actualmente es candidata a doctorado en el INDI programa en la Universidad de Concordia.
Su trabajo aborda la historia oral y las narrativas sociales. Su enfoque es altamente conceptual, experimental y está teóricamente fundamentado en las ciencias sociales críticas. Ella era la co-fundador y director artístico de nü.kolektif (2008-2014), un colectivo de artistas con sede en Estambul.
Artistas multidisciplinarios involucrados en performances que tratan temas políticos. Continuó esta línea de trabajo con Thought Experiment Productions (2015-) desde su llegada a Montreal, productora que también cofundó y que codirige.
Ülfet Sevdi is a writer, theatre director, dramaturge, visual artist, and Theatre of the Oppressed practitioner based in Montreal. She holds a Research and Creation Master in the INDI program at Concordia University. She is now a PhD candidate in the INDI
program at Concordia University.
Her work deals with oral history and social narratives. Her approach is highly conceptual, experimental, and is theoretically grounded in the critical social sciences. She was the co-
founder and artistic director of nü.kolektif (2008-2014), an Istanbul-based collective of multidisciplinary artists involved in performances dealing with political topics. She continued this line of work with Thought Experiment Productions (2015-) since coming to Montreal, a production company she also co-founded and that she co-directs.

Maternidad escénica: cuando la incapacidad impulsa las habilidades
Madres-artistas se reúnen, hablan de sus vivencias y deciden convertir esas imposibilidades en algo artístico. Trabajar en un proyecto sobre la maternidad y lo que se puede hacer a nivel académico y artístico. La incapacidad puede constituir el material y/o el tema de un espectáculo circense y de investigación-creación interdisciplinar.
Performing Motherhood: when inability drives abilities
Mothers-artists come together, talk about their experiences, and decide to turn these impossibilities into something artistic. To work on a project about motherhood, and what can be done at the academic and artistic level. Inability can constitute the material and/or the subject for a circus and interdisciplinary research-creation based performance.
